Hello friends! I got too excited for my own good and went ahead and decorated some yesterday. I did everything
except put the tree up, which is reserved to do with beau tonight after we feast on pumpkin pie! :)
This year, I wanted to go with a "classic rustic" theme for the mantel, if that's even really a theme at all. I sewed the stockings for us last month and added the laced to the top of the burlap.
I kept the idea of the layered frame look you can see in my Thanksgiving mantel, but changed a few things around. I hope you enjoy my (many) pictures! Have a wonderful holiday weekend!
Again, I used my painted white antlers.
The two tan ornaments are ugly gold ones I wrapped in jute.

For this "present" I just Mod Podged some pretty paper to a canvas and added ribbon. After taking these, I realized the canvas is upside down...ooops! That got fixed after the photos. O:)
I also put the wreath together myself using a thrifted green wreath and adding leaves, pine cones, berry picks and brown ribbon. I used this wreath at the Hobby Lobby as inspiration and tweaked it to my liking. I saw it in the store and liked it but didn't like the price tag. :P
Here is a close-up of the pine cones I got 80% at Hobby Lobby in the fall clearance section; I thought they worked for Christmas too. :)
Desi decided to sun himself at right time to make for a cute photo op. :)
And here are some photos of other areas around our apartment:
The shelf unit where the TV and books are...
...and the wall adjacent to the mantel.
On top of the shelf in the dining room I have homed the more traditional decor like these and
the light up wreath my mom made me.
The tree. :)
Thank you for taking a look at my little home! :)
